Printable Blank Tian Zi Ge Grids: how to use it

How do I generate a full page of blank grids?

Keep the Chinese character practice content empty to generate one page of blank grids. Spaces and line breaks also count as empty content. Adding Chinese characters switches the page to a worksheet with model characters.

Blank means there are no model characters or tracing examples inside the practice grids. The sheet still includes a title, name and date fields, and a footer for organizing your practice; it is not an untitled edge-to-edge grid page.

Choose the grid size and line color

Choose square tian zi ge grids with sides of 16, 20 or 24 mm. Larger grids give more room to examine stroke placement; smaller grids fit more writing space on the same page.

Compare the three line colors in the preview. Changing the tracing count cannot add model characters to an empty worksheet. The grids contain horizontal and vertical center lines; diagonal mi zi ge grids are not available.

How do I keep the printed grids at their actual size?

Download the PDF, select the same Letter or A4 paper size used for the worksheet and print at Actual size or 100%. Turn off automatic Fit to page. To print several identical sheets, increase the copy count in the print dialog.

Measure a grid on the test page to confirm that the printer has not scaled it. For browser printing, turn off headers and footers and set additional margins to zero; check the print preview for clipping at the edges.
