Printable Blank Number Grids: how to use it
How do number grids differ from tian zi ge?
These number grids have a 1:2 width-to-height ratio and one dashed horizontal center line, with no vertical center line. A blank sheet arranges individual number cells continuously across the page.
The 16, 20 and 24 mm options refer to grid height; the corresponding widths are 8, 10 and 12 mm. Choose a size and line color, then keep the number content empty to generate one blank page.
When should I use blank number grids?
Use blank grids for numbers you choose yourself, copying or dictation. They also give room to write independently before checking against an example. The page keeps its title, name and date fields, and footer, while the practice cells contain no printed digits.
For model digits from 0–9 or whole multi-digit tracing, enter the numbers and separate the groups with spaces. Blank sheets do not reserve multi-digit groups or automatically generate arithmetic problems and answers.
What print settings should I use?
Print the PDF using the same Letter or A4 paper size as the worksheet, portrait orientation and Actual size or 100%. Print and measure one test grid first to check that automatic scaling has not changed its height.
Increase the print copy count to make more identical sheets. If you use browser printing, turn off headers and footers and check that the page edges and final row are fully visible.
